Refund Policy

A Lifelong Commitment—Not Just a Transaction

At Chris Welsh Corgi, we don’t just raise puppies—we raise family. And that means our responsibility doesn’t end when your Corgi leaves our home. It begins.

We understand that life can shift in ways no one plans for. Whether it’s a sudden move, a change in health, or the realization that your lifestyle isn’t the right fit for a high-energy herding dog, we’re here for you—and for your Corgi—no matter what.

This policy isn’t about loopholes or limitations. It’s about love, accountability, and doing right by every tail we’ve ever wagged into the world.

❤️ The Chris Welsh Corgi Forever Promise

Every Corgi we breed has a home for life—with us, if ever needed.

From day one to their golden years, if you can no longer care for your Welsh Corgi—no matter the reason, no matter their age—we will welcome them back with open arms. No questions. No judgment. Just safety, comfort, and a promise kept.

This is our sacred vow as ethical breeders. Because once a Corgi is ours, they’re always ours.

🕒 The 72-Hour Adjustment Window

For when the first meeting doesn’t feel quite right

We carefully match each puppy to your family based on energy, temperament, and home environment. But sometimes, despite our best efforts, the connection isn’t what you hoped—or your puppy shows signs of a health concern we missed. That’s okay. We’ve got you.

Within 72 hours of pickup or delivery, you may choose:

✅ Option 1: Puppy Exchange

Found that your new Corgi’s energy is a little too bold (or too shy) for your household?
→ Exchange for another available puppy in our current or upcoming litters
→ No extra fee if selecting a puppy of equal or lesser value
→ We’ll work with you until it feels like the one

✅ Option 2: Partial Refund (Non-Health Related)

If an exchange isn’t right for you:
→ Receive 50% of your purchase price back
→ Puppy returns to our care in good health
→ All original paperwork, supplies, and microchip info returned

✅ Option 3: Full Refund (Health-Related Only)

If your licensed veterinarian diagnoses a serious, congenital, or life-impacting condition within 72 hours:
100% purchase price refund
→ Must include written vet documentation
→ Puppy may stay with you (if treatment is manageable) or return to us—your choice

Note: Minor, treatable issues (like small umbilical hernias or mild puppy stress) are covered under our Health Guarantee, not this refund policy.

📝 Requirements for 72-Hour Returns/Exchanges

To ensure fairness and puppy safety, we ask:

  • 🩺 Veterinary exam within 48 hours of arrival (we provide a pre-departure health certificate—you provide confirmation)
  • 📞 Contact us within 72 hours of pickup/delivery to initiate any return or exchange
  • 🐾 Puppy must be healthy, unharmed, and well-cared-for during their time with you
  • 📄 All original items returned: health records, microchip paperwork, food samples, toys, and care guide
  • 🚗 Safe return transport coordinated by us—you never have to worry about logistics

🌈 After 72 Hours: No Refunds, But Full Support

Monetary refunds are closed after three days—but our door never closes.

If life changes and you can no longer keep your Corgi, we will always take them back, whether it’s been:

  • 3 months (new baby, job loss)
  • 3 years (divorce, health crisis, housing change)
  • 10 years (retirement, mobility issues)

What you get:

  • Immediate, judgment-free acceptance
  • Safe transport coordination (at our expense, if needed)
  • Loving care while we find them a carefully vetted, perfect-match home
  • Optional updates on how they’re thriving

What you don’t get:

  • A refund (after 72 hours)
  • Guilt, shame, or silence

Because responsible ownership includes asking for help—and we honor that courage.

❌ What’s Not Covered

To keep things fair and focused on true need:

Non-refundable:

  • Delivery or transport fees (actual costs already incurred)
  • Deposits (after 72 hours)
  • Veterinary bills, training costs, or pet supplies

Not valid reasons for refund/return:

  • Change of heart after 72 hours
  • Normal Corgi behaviors (herding, barking, chewing, puppy energy)
  • Minor, treatable health issues (allergies, ear infections, seasonal shedding!)
  • Issues caused by improper diet, lack of training, or preventable injury

🛑 When We May Decline a Return

While we accept every Corgi back unconditionally, we reserve the right to decline refunds or question returns if:

  • There’s evidence of neglect, abuse, or poor care
  • The puppy was spayed/neutered before our recommended age without consultation
  • The dog was rehomed, sold, or surrendered to a shelter without notifying us first
  • False health claims or altered documentation are submitted

But even then—we’ll still help. Because the Corgi always comes first.

🤝 Before You Consider Returning—Let’s Try Support First!

Many “dealbreaker” challenges are actually solvable with the right guidance:

  • House training not clicking? We’ve got a 10-day potty plan that works.
  • Barking at squirrels? That’s herding instinct—we can channel it!
  • Picky eater? We’ll send our Corgi-approved meal recipes.
  • Anxiety when alone? We’ll walk you through crate training step-by-step.

Contact us before making a final decision. Often, a 10-minute chat changes everything.

🏡 Rehoming on Your Own? We’re Still Here to Help

If you’d prefer to find your Corgi a new home yourself:

  • You must notify us first
  • We’ll help screen adopters and provide a rehoming contract
  • Never surrender to a shelter without giving us a chance to step in

We offer free:

  • Rehoming ads in our network
  • Adoption applications & reference checks
  • Home visit coordination (where possible)

Because every Corgi deserves a second chance with the right family—not a kennel.

❓ Common Questions

Q: What if I realize after two weeks that I’m overwhelmed?
A: While refunds aren’t available, we’ll absolutely take your Corgi back and support you through the transition. You’re not failing—you’re being responsible.

Q: Can I get a refund if my Corgi develops hip dysplasia at 18 months?
A: That would fall under our Health Guarantee (not refund policy). Depending on diagnosis and documentation, you may qualify for a replacement puppy or partial reimbursement.

Q: Will you think less of me if I return my dog?
A: Never. In fact, we’ll respect you more. It takes strength to admit when a situation isn’t working—and that’s the kind of owner we’re honored to support.

💌 Final Word

If you ever need us, we’ll be here.
Not because of a policy—but because of love.
